USE OF THE KEY CODE CARD
The supplied key code will allow an auto-locksmith (OR US -'SEE NEW KEY SUPPLIED' BELOW) to cut you a key to fit your Ignition & Door locks.
If you have broken or lost all keys then it is the perfect way to get access again.
No need to remove and replace the ignition lock and door locks. (Very expensive, and labour intensive if you change all the locks too.)
Allows you to get a blank key cut to the original key profile of an ORIGINAL NEW KEY.
We can supply keys cut to code direct from your Registration or Vin number, including the transponder chip required.
You will then need to get it programmed to the vehicle via the DLC connector
(OBD socket on the vehicle used to code in the new keys- This is normally by using diagnostic/programming tools) Usually done by an auto locksmith.

THE LDV VEHICLES
The systems use special ignition TRANSPONDER keys which are coded electronically to the vehicle, and are unique to it.
Once the system has been armed by switching off the ignition switch, any unauthorised attempt to start the engine will be electronically inhibited.
The system can only be disarmed using a key with the correct electronic TRANSPONDER code.
Inside the ignition keys are tiny ceramic/glass transponder chips which do not have any power supply of their own.
To enable them to transmit the 'encrypted radio signals' to the immobiliser modules, the ignition lock has an 'inductive loop' around it, connected to the immobiliser module that transmits a 'signal'.
This signal, induces a current in the key transponders chip coil, which then powers it up.
It then transmits back to the same inductive loop around the ignition lock, that now behaves as an Ariel and receives that encrypted data and passes it along to the Immobiliser Module for processing.
If all is OK, it deactivates the immobiliser and the vehicle can start. A cut key on its own is not enough to start the vehicle.
