INSTALLATION
These surface mounted micro switch buttons need to be soldered to the fob's Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
The original faulty one(s),  (worth changing both) will need to be removed first.
Remove the battery.Desolder the old switches taking care not to over-heat the board.
Clean the area with suitable cleaner, Isopropyl alcohol* is fine or contact cleaner. (*Flammable!)
Re-solder in replacement buttons taking care not to overheat the board or switches.
We can replace the buttons for you via mail order - with free post. Contact us for details.

FAULTS THAT CAN  OCCUR WITH LDV MAXUS FOBS
The buttons on the fobs deteriorate, due to usage and age, and can cause various problems as listed below.

The Fob's Button(s) leg(s) which are normally soldered to the PCB will detach themselves and work intermittently, or not at all.
The micro contacts in the switch itself will fail, and transmit a continuous signal to the alarm and central locking resulting in the immobiliser activating itself.

Sometimes this is accompanied with the Central locking recycling.

Then you have the failure to work at all, so NO red LED light on the fob, nor data transmitted to the on-board ESA unit due to the switches failing in the 'push to make' micro contacts.

Lastly, if you find that the fob LED is working when you press the button(s) but the Central locking is not, then the fault could be the on board Relay in the ESA unit (Entry Systems & Alarm Module) which has 3 relays. (Each with dual relays inside those) One of these  two internal relays may have failed and will need to be changed...we also sell the those relays and offer help on how to change it. Its soldered to the PCB using through hole techniques.

For the ESA unit, we can offer a mail order service to replace the faulty relays.

Terms:All fobs supplied with 12mths warranty. All labour and repairs to Pektron Units including Replacement IC's (integrated Circuit's) and or Relays carry a 180 day parts and labour Warranty. Any switches are warrantied only until they are soldered to the PCB - due to possible overheating of the switches when soldering by customers.
